Maritoka Palmer
Born in Asheville and raised in Edenton, Maritoka has been making jewelry and selling it since she was thirteen years old. She left eastern North Carolina to study jewelry in New England at the renowned Rhode Island School of Design. There she was exposed to the contemporary European jewelry ideas, as well as acquiring the metal fabrication skills needed to accomplish her ideas. After receiving a BFA in Jewelry and Light Metals and armed with a vision she returned to NC and settled on the Outer Banks to make jewelry that people like to wear.
